Order Book Index 1792-1860
This index covers 13 books of the Logan Co., KY, Order Books (minutes of the fiscal court) from 1792 through 1860. Books A and B (Nov 1846-1860) are no longer to be found but the index for each remains and is included here. Work copies of the books are located in the county court clerkâs office, originals are stored for preservation.
Books 1A and 1 repeat some of the same information and vary in other aspects. Both are included here.
Order Books are numbered 1A, then 1-10, then A-Z, then back to numbers with #27 following Z. For ease in computer indexing, 1A is listed as 0, 1-10 by their numbers, and Book A becomes 11, Book B becomes 12. Numbering for the pages includes the book code number as well as the page number (last 3 numbers in the numeral), so 1025 means information is to be found in book 1, page 25.
Indexes to these books were available on RootsWeb but hard to find so they were made a part of the LOGAN LINKS, monthly newsletter of the Logan Co., KY, Genealogical Society, Inc. and published January through December 2011. A disk containing all information presented in 2011 is available for $25.00 plus $6.95 postage/packaging.
